PRODUCED IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE
SMALL BATCH, VIBRANT ENGLISH WINES.
Thank-you for visiting our website and showing interest in Williams Family Wines. We welcome you to try our wines and join us on our journey as we develop our craft to produce vibrant English fine wines.
In our small vineyard, we care for each vine by hand so we can grow the highest quality grapes. Our artisan wines are produced in our family winery in Cambridgeshire, allowing us to oversee every detail from grape to glass. We also source grapes from some of the finest English vineyards for our wines.
INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED AND
MULTI-AWARD WINNING WINE
Our wines have won multiple international awards since we launched our first vintage. This year we were one of only six English wine producers to win medals for Still Wine at the International Wine Challenge. Thousands of wines from across the world were entered into the competition which was judged by 500 international wine experts. It surpassed our wildest ambitions for our first vintage to be considered amongst this group.

Our Rosé was the highest-rated English Rosé in the International Wine and Spirits Competition and in the top 15 in the world, after being awarded 92 points and a Silver medal.
It’s a David and Goliath story which we hope will make the local community proud; having come out on top against some of the most recognised and highly regarded wineries in the world from our little winery in Cambridgeshire.

We're proud that our wines can now be found on the wine list of some of the countries finest restaurants. It was particularly exciting to recently learn about our first listing at a Michelin starred restaurant. We are stocked by a carefully selected group of independent wine retailers who provide an excellent service to compliment our wines.
THE WINERY
Our wines are produced in our family winery in Cambridgeshire. The winery is small, modern and ever growing!
It is attached to our home so we are able to monitor and work on our wines whenever they need it, 7 days a week. This dedication and attention in the winery is one of the many aspects which sets us apart and helps us craft our stunning, small batch English wines.

To help ensure high quality and safety standards for our wines we have our own small wine laboratory on site. We also work with the leading UK wine laboratory, Campden BRI, to gain independent analysis of our wines.
THE VINEYARD
Grapes are grown on our small vineyard where each vine is cared for by hand to produce the best quality grapes.
The vineyard is on a gentle south facing slope, ensuring grapes ripen well. The site is well sheltered but provides good air flow to protect the vines.
We also source grapes from some of the finest English vineyards for our wines. We work closely with those trusted growers throughout the season to ensure we produce an end product which we can both be proud of.
OUR STORY
Nick and Julia first got interested in English wine in 2018 when they started to explore the idea of planting a small vineyard near their home in Buckden in Cambridgeshire. Following a number of visits to lots (and lots!) of English vineyards, they studied at Plumpton College, the UK Centre of Excellence for Viticulture (growing grapes) and Oenology (wine making). They continued their study with University College Davis in California (a world leading university in the subject, famous for producing some of Napa and Sonoma's most respected wine makers).
After achieving a distinction at Plumpton and a distinction in his WSET level 3, Nick went on to work in wineries in Stellenbosch in South Africa, and Champagne in France before the couple decided to launch their own English wine label in 2023. Nick also contracts out his services to support new and established English wine producers both in the winery and in their vineyards.

Viticulture has been present in the Williams family before Nick and Julia first got interested in the topic. Each year Nick and Julia still make wine from the grapes Nick's Grandfather planted over 40 years ago.
